Mindset Network is a non-profit organisation aimed at the personal, social and economic upliftment of all South Africans through better education.
It is a far-reaching, country-changing project which creates, sources and delivers free educational material via satellite broadcasts with supporting multimedia material in print and on the internet. Its key focus in on the integration of human learning processes on the ground. It is funded primarily by local and international donors and corporate sponsors.
The intention is to develop, launch and manage a number of channels aimed at the needs of different target markets. Mindset will provide South Africans with a dedicated and integrated education service.
Your financial assistance in this initiative would be invaluable, particularly in the rollout of receiving infrastructure to schools to enable them to receive "Activate", Mindsets first offering which is aimed at Grade 10 - 12 educators and learners.
Our contribution
The launch of the Mindset Network has been made possible by the generous contributions of a number founding sponsors. The total value contributions made by Mindset's various founding partners is roughly R222 million. The main partners in this initiative are the Liberty, Standard Bank and Nelson Mandela foundations.
The Standard Bank and Liberty on a joint basis provided R74 million in cash to the project. In addition, they have been instrumental in securing additional partner support.
The Nelson Mandela Foundation has provided R10 million in seed funding to the Mindset Network to assist with the health and education channels. This foundation has committed to assist in raising substantial funds for Mindset Network. The foundation will also integrate the project into its 120 rural schools as well as their clinic initiatives.
